The Golden Ratio Robotics team is a group of High School and Jr. High students who are looking to make a difference and impact our community.  Our robotics team consist of students from multiple schools.  We compete in  First™ Tech Challenge (FTC), a division of FIRST™, an international Science, Technology, and Engineering organization dedicated to inspiring children to consider and dream big about having careers in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) field.

Our team consist of 15 members or less lead by Coach Melissa, and assisted by Coach Bob, and other Mentors.  We must work against the clock to create a robot from scratch, design marketing materials, create websites, produce a robust engineering notebook documenting our work, come up with business plans and sponsors, and learn new skills from adult mentors all while practicing gracious professionalism.  Our hard work is judged in several competitive events starting in November with the culmination coming in spring when teams hope they are chosen for the international championships. Being community minded we reach out to local businesses to create excitement, partnerships, and financial sponsorship's to show pride in our technology and math-minded abilities.  All sponsors are invited to attend our competitions, and our team can give a robot demonstration at your company for donating. 

We will be competing throughout McHenry and Lake County and potentially at a national level.  As a sponsor, your business name will be exposed to hundreds and potentially thousands of participants, parents, teachers, and spectators.  It is our hope that, in conjunction with advertising opportunities for your business, the excitement of supporting a local technology team inspires you!
